The Tilt-Shift Edition - Part 1
I talked about my Tilt-Shift Addiction in my first post and how it was a guilty pleasure because the effect was all done digitally and required zero skill or technical knowledge.
Initially it was just wide landscape shots I did it with but after a while I just shifted everything. This program was so easy to use I could just go back through my photo archives and see it all from a whole new perspective, and I did. It was pretty fun. But it had to end.
So, as usual, here are some of my favourites...

Patience
An old lady tackling a slow incline, truly a thing to behold.
I don't normally do black and white but I thought this seemed like a fitting occasion, I have no idea why though. I've got the entire day to myself, might go experiment with B&W, the sky's pretty overcast... could be good.

More Sky From Andover
Back when I was living in Andover the only decent thing to photograph was the sky. This one here's definitely in my top 10, can't remember exactly where it was taken or when though. Reminds me of summer as a kid when the sky was poignant and overwhelming. Although now that I think about it, not much has changed....

Return to Alexandra Park
Went back to Alexandra Park earlier to try and get some shots but I wasn't really pleased with any of 'em. This one's probably my favourite. It's such an incredible view, I just wish I could do it justice....

What of Beauty?
The other day I went exploring, determined to see more of this city I apparently live in now. I ended up following this long path closed in by tall trees that hung beautifully in the intermittent sun. I snapped hundreds of shots of trees and bush and streams of golden light but when I got home and studied them all in a bit more detail they didn't interest me! The pictures I really loved were the ones of ugly, naked civilisation imposing itself upon the world. Such as a load of transformers fenced in and barely noticeable through the leaves; trying, and failing, to blend into their surroundings.
But as I mentioned it wasn't until I got home that I realised how much I preferred these shots, so instead of giving you pictures that delicately displayed the juxtaposition of 'Necessary Infastructure' and 'Preserved Nature' I just got a few macro shots of man made items without any real context to frame them.
But still, I'm happy with them, and maybe one day I'll head back and try to see if I can capture what I've just spoken of.
These are the two shots I was most pleased with from that walk.....

Easy on the Tilt-Shift...
Recently I discovered this app on Chrome called 'Tilt Shift Maker' which does exactly what it says on the tin. So I dug through my pictures trying to decide which one would really benefit from this treatment. This picture had to have all the right elements, it had to have an interesting subject as well as being clear and detailed, also I really wanted a wide shot for some reason so the search parameters were nice and high. I eventually went with this picture taken in March from Alexandra Park...
And thus my Tilt-Shift addiction was born. It wouldn't be such a problem (or really any of a problem) if I was legitimately performing this effect, but it's all digital. No skill required at all, not to mention any technical knowledge of any kind really.
At first I just did it with a few seemingly deserving pictures, but pretty soon I was exclusively taking photo's that I knew would make excellent subjects for shifting.
I've got a few more ideas I want to try out, but after that I swear I will cool it on the Tilt-Shift. I'll be posting a few of the ones I've already taken soon so you can see the quick decline from 'Vaguely Artistic Use' to 'Sickening Superfluity' for yourself.
Then I ran it through the app and was presented with this....
